U14 Year End Awards

Due to the abrupt end to the ski season, awards were done via video. Please CLICK HERE FOR THE U14 AWARDS!

Skier of the year is awarded to the athletes that ski at the top of their age group and achieve the best results. This could be in the regular MVC season or in postseason races.-

Female Skier of the Year: Parker Toyloy

Parker had a great season finishing 14th overall in the Mid-Vermont Council Race Series. She was our top performing Weekend Program Athlete. She went on to VT State Championship finishing 42nd overall. Parker had a great season, especially for a 1st year U14. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her!

Male Skier of the Year: Kieran Shea

Kieran had a great season and was our top finishing Okemo weekend athlete placing 5th overall in the Mid-Vermont Council Race series. He went on to have a great VT State Championship finishing 31st and qualifying for U14 Eastern Finals. He just missed Eastern Championships by 2 spots. Kieran was very consistent all season long. He finished every race run he took this season, with just one hike on his 1st run of the season. Kieran is a hard working and dedicated athlete that saw his hard work pay off this season.

-Most improved goes to athletes that made the biggest gains to their skiing technically and tactically.-

Most Improved Female: Reiley Pascale

Reiley made some great improvements both technically and tactically. She started to find the outside ski more and put pressure in the fall line. Her results though the regular Mid-Vermont Council Series continued to improve finishing the last race in 12th. Had there been another race she would have likely made VT States with the momentum she was gaining. Reiley ended up 22nd in the Mid-Vermont Council overall, which is a huge jump from the 39th place she finished in 2018/2019. We can’t wait to see how Rieley does as a U16 next season, keep up the good work!

Most Improved male: Sam Tatko

Sam had a great season as a 1st year U14. He finished 31st overall in the Mid-Vermont Council. He consistently improved his results from the first race of the season until the end, finishing in the top 20 by the end of the season. Sam made some good changes in his fundamental skiing skills, which will serve him well as he refines his technique. Sam is an athletic skier and we are excited to see how his second year U14 shapes up!

-The coaches award goes to athletes that are helpful, hard working, and keep the coaches smiling. Sometimes it’s as little as a good morning greeting with a smile or helping clean up at the end of training-

Female Coaches Award: Sylvia Brennan

Sylvia is enthusiastic and hard working. She always helped whenever she could and had a go getter attitude. She was always smiling and really loved the sport of alpine ski racing!

Male Coaches Award: Connor Buchichio and Jack Gustavson

Connor and Jack are both great athletes to coach. Always focused and thirst to learn more and become better. They have great energy and are very coachable. Their enthusiasm for the sport of ski racing is contagious and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two athletes!
