It has been a rollercoaster of weather conditions recently. It is trending warmer for the weekend, so be ready for the elements. Friday is looking like it will be okay for the State SG Race at Sugarbush.
Friday 3/1 Sugarbush VT State SG Race:
The race announcement is attached. Lifts load at 8am, we will meet at the base of the lift at 7:45 to hand out bibs (Mt. Ellen). *Tickets are not included in the race entry*. You must follow the link in the race announcement to purchase a ticket for the day. If you have an Ikon pass no need to purchase a ticket, just use that.
Saturday 3/2 GS Training
Theme – Flexed ankle in transition, rolling ankles to start the turn
11:00AM- Meet U14 coaches on the work road at the top of Wardance
11:10-12:30PM-
-Run 1 60 edge sets with pole touch each side, free ski rest of trail
-Run 2 Two footed Garlands top pitch, outside ski slide turns flats to lift
-Run 3 One ski Garlands Left leg whole trail. Leave a ski at the top of the trail.
-Run 4 One ski Garlands Right leg whole trail.
-Run 5 J Turns whole trail
-Run 6 Outside ski carve turns the whole trail.
-Run 7 Free ski run
12:30-12:45PM- Water/snack break
12:45 – 3:30 PM- Inspect and run Training environment

-J Turns- I couldn’t find a good video, we will explain more at training. Straight run in a flexed athletic position, transfer majority of weight to downhill ski and roll onto edge, turning up the hill with matched knees and ankles.

Coach Lunches:
The coaches really appreciate all of the lunches you have provided for us this season! Many times we don’t get time to go in and eat and it is nice to have something on the go. We still need volunteers for lunch for States at Sugarbush and Stratton. Thank You!
