U12 and U10 Training 2/19-2/22

Hello U12 and U10 Families,

Hope everyone is having a great week and staying warm!  The temps have been chilly, but the skiing is incredible and I hope everyone is having the chance to get out there and enjoy it!
No changes to the schedule over the next few days, but just wanted to send a reminder of training from tomorrow through the weekend.
Thursday 2/19: SL skis – stubby and full gates and SL drill sections
Friday 2/20: GS skis – GS gate drills
Saturday 2/21: GS skis – we will train dual GS in the PM in preparation for the U12 and U10 festivals
Sunday 2/22: SL skis – stubby and full gates and SL drill sections
Also, as a reminder, from here through the end of the year on SL skis days, U12s will begin to have the opportunity to train some full gate SL to help the second years transition into U14s.  Therefore, if your child has a chin guard and pole guards, they can wear them.  If they do not, don’t worry we will always have stubby options available.  Shin guards can be worn by any athlete.  Please note chin guards should be removed when not training SL.
Looking ahead:
Saturday 2/28: U12s will freeski and train SL gates (stubby and full); U10s will freeski on GS skis
Sunday 3/1: U12s race Stubby SL at Suicide Six (details to come next week); U10s will freeski and train Dual GS gates
Saturday 3/8: U12s train Dual GS at home; U10s race dual GS at the U10 Festival at Quechee (details to come)
Sunday 3/9: U12s race dual GS at U12 Festival at Killington (details to come); U10s freeski on twin tips or rock skis
Sunday March 15th will be our last day of organized training, but stay tuned for info on a program-wide end of the season celebration.
I will get out a separate communication next week regarding the post-season events for the U12s and other March open race opportunities for U12 and U10s.
Hope to see you all around the mountain!
