Details for U12 Stubby SL at Quechee on Saturday 2/27:
Registration is in the basement of the Quechee base lodge from 7:30-8:30 am. The entry fee for the race is $30 – cash or check only. Your athlete will get his or her lift ticket and bib here – please have them register themselves but keep the reminders coming about not losing bibs! Parent tickets are $22 and sibling tickets are $17 and available at the ticket booth at the bottom of the chair.  You do not need to ski to be able to view the race.

Coaches will meet the athletes at 8:25 am at the base of the lift to go for free runs and inspection.  The first run starts at 9:30 am and the second run will almost immediately after the first run ends.  Second run is in reverse order within gender and awards are by single best run about one hour after the completion of the race.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no “tailgating” allowed at Quechee.  Please do not bring large amounts of outside food or beverages to set up either in the parking lot or on the deck.  Quechee is a private golf/country club and the ski club is lucky to be able to operate and host races there.  They also do not allow dogs.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS to Quechee:
Take 100 North (the right hand turn before Jackson Gore). In Plymouth, take a right onto 100A. When this dead ends at Rt 4, take a right. This will go through Bridgewater and Woodstock – watch for cops in both towns! The speed limit goes down to 25 twice – obey the speed limit. Continue through Woodstock and after a few miles as you come to the town of Taftsville (don’t blink) you will see a big red covered bridge with a green roof on the left.  Take a left to get to the bridge.  Go across it and head straight up the hill.  Follow this road for a mile or two until you see Quechee on your left.  You can either park before the white building (base lodge) or after it.   It takes about 50 minutes to get to Quechee.
Details for the U12 Stubby SL on Sunday, 2/28 at Suicide Six:
Registration is in the Ski Runner’s Building (to the right of the lift) from 7:30 -8:30 am.  We must use the regular base lodge for getting ready and storing items. Entry is $30 – cash or check only (made payable to WSR) or you can pre-pay at adminskiracing.com (Suicide Six requests that you prepay, but will not purge your athlete from my entry list if you don’t – remember that the list you see on adminskiracing is only who has paid through the website – not my list!).  Please have your athlete register him or herself.   Parent tickets are available at the Main Lodge, but you do not need to ski to view the whole race.

Coaches will meet athletes at 8:10 am outside of the base lodge/at the base of the lift – it is a small place. The first run will start at 9:30 am.  The second run will be one hour after the completion of the first.  Remember that the course will be re-set for the U12s and we will do a second run inspection prior to the start of the second run.  Athletes should stay tuned to coaches instructions in case of changes in timing.  Second run is in reverse bib order within gender.

Directions to Suicide Six: From Ludlow, head towards Jackson Gore, but just before it turn right onto RT 100 N. When you enter Plymouth, turn right onto Rt. 100A. When this dead ends at RT 4, take a right. Watch for cops when the speed limit drops in Bridgewater! Continue until you enter Woodstock. Just past the green, take a left onto RT 12. You will go over a little bridge and then bear right. After a mile or so, you will come to a fork in the road. Go right at the fork. (there are signs for Suicide Six at this point) Go another few miles and you will come to Suicide Six on the left hand side. OBEY SPEED LIMITS EVERYWHERE – the cops are bad along this whole route, esp. in and around Woodstock.  It takes about 45 -50 minutes to get to Suicide Six.
That’s all for now…
Thanks,
Mariel
