OMST 3.8_3.9

OMST Parents and athletes,

Well, the USASA Southern Vermont Series events has come to an end and our coaching staff is thoroughly impressed with all the athletes who competed in the different disciplines. We had a ton of great results but more importantly, also witnessed a huge amount of progression from event to event from all the OMST athletes who competed.  With 3 weeks left and hopefully some excellent spring conditions, OMST athletes should be ready to really push the envelope and take advantage of what little time left they have on the hill before our season comes to an end.
USASA Nationals at Copper is just around the corner and this is the last week of USASA events that will be taking place around the country. Invites to athletes for Nationals should start coming out next week.  The picture is already pretty clear  for OMST athletes who will be going and I have discussed the Nationals possibility with most parents.  Once the invites are finalized, I will email OMST parents whose son/daughter has received an invitation on the Nationals picture and as it pertains to OMST and coaching in Copper.
On to this weekend, our training schedule for 3/8-3/9 will be as follows:
8am: Meet at the Bull for Team stretch
8:15am-11am: Training
12pm: Meet at the Airbag (Saturday only)
12pm-12:45pm: Airbag training
12:45-1:30pm: Training
**Sunday, 3/9 training will be spent on-snow in the pm.
Also, for any OMST athletes who would like to compete in a rail jam, Okemo is hosting the Light the Night Rail Jam this Saturday 3/8 on Bull Run which is always super fun! Registration upstairs in the baselodge from 3-5. Contest starts at 6pm. There will be no coaching at this event, but I encourage all of our OMST jibbers to compete for some cool prizes, cash, and an overall good time.
Lastly, the last call to signup for the OMS Spring Cleanup Snowboard Camp (3/10-3/14) is on Wednesday 3/5. This is a great opportunity to receive a ton of coaching and training under quiet slopes and the camp includes park and pipe training, a day trip to Killington, airbag training, and tramp training at OMS. Please contact me for registration information if you would like to sign your son/daughter up.
