OMS Snowboard Camps and Weekday Training
As you may know, each year we host several Okemo Mountain School camps for athletes that have demonstrated dedication and genuine interest in the sport of their choice: skiing or snowboarding. The camp provides an opportunity to have our athletes on snow for a lengthy period of consistent, intensive training; it also exposes our weekend athletes to life at a ski academy. They participate in a regimen very close to that of the full term athletes and get to experience first hand the rigor of academy life.
Luke Bonang and Jerry Tucker host three camps throughout the season. Each Camp has a different emphasis and includes on-snow training from 8am-12:30pm followed by academics from 12:30-3pm.
Holiday Hammer Camp: December 12th – December 16th. Usually a trip out of VT and is for any rider looking to get their legs back under them to prepare for the long season of riding and competing. Includes; freeriding, early season park riding, switch riding, boardercross and gate training.
Shred the Gnar Camp: February 6th – February 10th. The Shred the Gnar Camp is our Freestyle specific camp. At least 75% of the time will be spent in the parks and pipe dialing in technical tricks on rails, boxes and jumps and aerial maneuvers in the pipe. This is a great to join us as the Okemo parks are always in tip-top shape!
Spring Cleanup Snowboard Camp: March 19thst-23rd. The Spring Cleanup Snowboard Camp is the last Camp we offer and is designated for athletes who are competing in Nationals and need that extra week of training and conditioning before Nationals in April. Every discipline will be covered including park and pipe, GS/Slalom, and Boardercross. Note: If necessary, there will be a day of training at Bromley offered for athletes looking to dial in their boardercross skills.
