January 2013 Update

January, 2013

Dear Friend of OMARA,

Progress continues on the OMARA Clubhouse.  As mentioned in our last update to members, a final location has been identified. Site plans have now been developed and specifications are underway.  We are moving ahead promptly and need your financial contribution to bring our shared vision to life.

The OMARA Clubhouse will be an historic development for our program.  The current plan will enable OMARA members to enjoy:

  • A home mid-mountain with the amenities appropriate for an athletic program of our scale and depth – gathering space, concession, storage and tuning facilities, restrooms, video room
  • A home from which to view competition events
  • A home for OMARA members to call their own – to congregate, connect with old friends and make new ones.

Year after year, Okemo Mountain’s competition programs post amazing results. However, the most meaningful results are longer term. For every athlete and parent, the memories and friendships are enduring. An on-mountain facility for OMARA will continue these traditions for years ahead.

The location we have identified is within a couple hundred yards of the existing yurt, uphill and to the right of the Blackridge loading area, where trees now stand.  We believe this site offers several advantages, including easy access and viewing for all snowsport disciplines, along with direct control of the property by Okemo.

Several generous lead donors at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels  ($5,000, $10,000 and more than $15,000) have played a key role in moving us forward.   We have now raised 50% of our goal in the form of pledges. However, construction cannot proceed without final funding.  We need your help to get all the way there. We are looking for pledges now which will be called in 2013.  Whether you are a current or alumni OMARA family, we encourage you to help us make history at Okemo.

Additional information on our progress and pledging will be available at go2omara.com under the red “Our Building” tab.  We can accept scanned copies of the pledge form by email at [email protected] or hard copies mailed to the address on the form.

Please join us in this exciting time for our Club. We thank you in advance for your financial support in building a home for OMARA athletes and families.
