OMST 12.10_12.11

OMST Athletes and Parents,

Although the forecast had everyone fooled for 8-12″, we did receive few inches of much needed snow here in VT last night and the long term forecast looks great with really cold temps which are the essential ingredients for bigtime snowmaking.
Due to the low trail count, we will be training a half day on Saturday and a full day Sunday. The reason for this is that the trail count is supposed to increase by a couple of trails for Sunday. It will be busier than last weekend, so let’s make sure that everyone is ready to go @ 8am to get some cruisers in before madness. We were pretty lenient on tardiness last weekend but let’s try to make a point of meeting at the Sitting Bull on time @ 8am.
On another note: I have not yet received any word on the December 17th USASA Giant Slalom at Bromley so for those of you who are planning on competing, I’ll let you know as soon as I find out. There will be no trail space this weekend to train gates or stubbies, but Coach Chrissy will take whomever is planning on racing this year for some alpine drills on Sunday just in case they go ahead with Bromley GS race.
Lastly, the Darkside Meet and Greet is this Saturday @ 4:30pm. This will be an excellent opportunity for parents and athletes to meet the coaching staff, discuss the season, and to receive gear assistance by Darkside staff and coaches.  I will also have OMST apparel order forms on-hand as I will be ordering hoodies, tees, and stickers, on Monday.

Freestyle Update

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had as much fun as I did this past weekend. Lots of sun, fun skiing and competitions. This past weekend at Whaleback, Ryan, Bryan, and Jack, all stepped up and competed in their first Mogul comp ever, along with others from Okemo. They all had stand up runs and skied strong. Jace Provance coming off a strong Easterns finish decided it was time to win one for himself taking 1st overall at Whaleback. Results are available at easternfreestyle.org .

This upcoming weekend we have training both days.

Saturday 3/26 11:30 Awards Banquet at the Yurt (bottom of black ridge chair) There will be a barbecue followed by the awards.

Saturday evening
End of the Season Party
5-6:30
Location to be announced

We look forward to seeing everyone over the weekend. Thanks for a great season.

Thanks
Mike

OMST Weekend Itinerary 2.12_2.13

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

This weekend, we have a USASA GS/Slalom race at Bromley on Saturday.  For those of you who are competing, this is your last GS/Slalom race of the year so ride hard, ride fast, and best of luck.  Betsy will be meeting everyone in the upstairs of the Bromley Base Lodge @ 7:45am.

For non-competitors, our training will consist of another heavy dose of park and pipe riding.  We are halfway through our Slope/Pipe comps and have two remaining at the end of the month and on the first weekend of March.  We will have a lot of training time over the next few weeks with President’s week in the mix, so now is the time to up the ante and dial in some new tricks. Also, in regards to events and representing OMST and OMS it would be great if ALL of our USASA competitors could update their USASA info and include OMST and/or OMS in your profile as a sponsor or team.  This will give us representation at events to let everyone out there know that we’re here and we rip :)
