OMST Athletes and Parents,
Although the forecast had everyone fooled for 8-12″, we did receive few inches of much needed snow here in VT last night and the long term forecast looks great with really cold temps which are the essential ingredients for bigtime snowmaking.
Due to the low trail count, we will be training a half day on Saturday and a full day Sunday. The reason for this is that the trail count is supposed to increase by a couple of trails for Sunday. It will be busier than last weekend, so let’s make sure that everyone is ready to go @ 8am to get some cruisers in before madness. We were pretty lenient on tardiness last weekend but let’s try to make a point of meeting at the Sitting Bull on time @ 8am.
On another note: I have not yet received any word on the December 17th USASA Giant Slalom at Bromley so for those of you who are planning on competing, I’ll let you know as soon as I find out. There will be no trail space this weekend to train gates or stubbies, but Coach Chrissy will take whomever is planning on racing this year for some alpine drills on Sunday just in case they go ahead with Bromley GS race.
Lastly, the Darkside Meet and Greet is this Saturday @ 4:30pm. This will be an excellent opportunity for parents and athletes to meet the coaching staff, discuss the season, and to receive gear assistance by Darkside staff and coaches. I will also have OMST apparel order forms on-hand as I will be ordering hoodies, tees, and stickers, on Monday.
