OMS and OMST athletes US Open Junior Jam Results

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

OMS and OMST riders performed well at the US OPEN Junior Jam this past weekend.  There was a huge field of 80 young halfpipe competitors (13 and under) from all over the country and even as far as Ireland and Japan.  The spring elements made for a perfect halfpipe day with warm temps and sunny skies and the 22′  US Open U tube was in tip-top shape for the competitors to blast airs in.

Austin Rebetz (OMST) grabbed a 26th place finish with a clean run that included some nice straight airs and a couple 5′s.  Taylor Spaulding (OMST/OMS) finished 23rd with a very clean run of some large tailgrabs, methods, and stale’s all out of the 22′ foot pipe.  Austin Hawkes (OMST/OMS) rounded out his excellent pipe year with a 12th place finish with a technical run that included a huge frontside 5 followed by a large roast beef, method, and nosegrab and a clean ally-oop andrecht handplant to stoke out the judges.

Nice work guys!

OMST Weekend Itinerary 3/5-3/6

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

OMST parents and athletes,

Our final USASA event weekend is here and I hope all OMST competitors are stoked!  The Slopestyle finals will take place on Saturday on Saturday on Noreaster and with Pipe finals on Sunday.  Jerry and I will be holding slope and pipe training on Friday through OMS for anybody who is interested.  I would highly suggest the extra training if you can make it happen as they are changing the Noreaster course a bit for the event.  Please let me know if your son/daughter will be joining us on Friday.

For those of you who are not competing, training will continue as normal with a meeting time of 8am @ the Sitting Bull, lunch at 11am, 12pm pickup at the pipe, and dropoff at 1:30pm.  If anyone has any questions on the weekend and/or anything else, please shoot me an email.
