The OMST competes at Nationals in Copper, CO

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012Hello All,
Wow, what a wonderful Devo Finals for Okemo! We are all so proud of all of our athletes for their performance last Sunday! A huge thank you to all of the parents that pitched in to make the race a success, to the coaches who went above and beyond, to Eric Evans for his help (this weekend and ALWAYS:)!), and, of course, to Okemo for supporting us in holding the race at the last minute!
I will be working up a masterpiece of a race re-cap in the next week or so, but wanted to get this info to you ASAP!
As you all probably know from Peter Cornish’s email, the End of the Year awards have been moved up to SATURDAY, March 24th at 11 am at the bottom of Wardance. Please plan to attend!
We have decided to, unfortunately, cancel Devo Olympics. Therefore, there will be no training or gathering of Devos other than awards on Saturday. Please take the day to enjoy some of the last turns of the season with your children and then attend the awards. We will not have any training on Sunday.

J1/2 Weekend Update
Friday, March 16th, 2012Hello Kids,
Sorry for being a bit tardy on this post!
We will have SL training this Saturday Meet at the gate shack at 8:00 With full SL gear!
Sunday we hope to go race at Bromley as of now the snow is looking good and we will be able to get the race off. We will unfortunately be unable to have any gate training on Sunday due to Devo Finals. This plan may change stay tuned as some hill space may come available.

Hopefuls final race 3/17 and photos from scavenger hunt
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012Believe it or not, our final race and last day of Hopefuls for the season is this Saturday. The winter has gone by way too quickly but it is so great to see how much all the kids have improved with their skiing. We will meet this Saturday at the Sugar House at 9 am. We’ll be racing on Wardance. Each team will inspect the course and we plan to start the race by 9:45. After the race we’ll leave the course open for parents, kids and coaches to challenge each other. We’ll have a pizza party and awards beginning at 12:30 at the Yurt at the base of the Black Ridge Chair.

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012Hello all as you know the weather is looking very spring like up here. Temps in the 60s and nothing freezing at night! That being said we will try for the plan below!! WE MAY ONLY GET SL in or free skiing so be ready for both!!

Friday, March 9th, 2012I am missing a pair of GS poles from the OMS van! I bring them to races as spares, so whoever took them please return them by noon Saturday. We leave for Whiteface at noon !!!

HOPEFULS 3/10 – SCAVENGER HUNT DAY & INFORMATIONAL MEETING ON THE PROPOSED OMARA CLUBHOUSE
Thursday, March 8th, 2012Hi All, This Saturday we will have our Scavenger Hunt, we haven’t done it in a couple of years and we are excited to be scavenging about the mountain on Saturday morning. So, be prepared and study your trail maps between now and Saturday morning. The plan is to meet on Saturday morning at the Sugar House at 9 am, teams will then head out on the mountain with their clues and try to solve the riddle. All groups will return to the Sugar House at 11 am and we will determine the winner of the hunt. We’ll meet again at noon for the afternoon session of training.
Also, most of you have joined OMARA. OMARA is our ski club and your annual dues support social events (ie parent info meeting in Dec), scholarships for athlete travel, race equipment, and many other things. OMARA is in the process of raising funds to build a clubhouse on the mountain which would be available for all members to enjoy and utilize. Saturday morning there will be a brief informational meeting downstairs in the Sugar House at 9 am for those who are interested in learning more about this project. The Clubhouse would be a great addition to our OMARA community and we’d love to get the word out to our youngest and largest group. Please join us for a short meeting this Saturday morning after you have dropped the kids off with their groups.
Finally, our last race and final Hopeful session of the season will be on Saturday, March 17th. We will be racing on Wardance that day, followed by a pizza party at the base area of Wardance. It is always a fun event and we look forward to everyone participating that day, we will also have the opportunity for kids to race their parents at the conclusion of our official race. We hope you can join us for the final celebration!
