U10 and U12 Training starts Saturday December 7th!

Hello U12 and U10 Families,
It is beginning to look like winter up here in VT.  Snow is on the ground and the conditions on the mountain are awesome!  We have a ton of open terrain – more than we have ever had at this time of year in a long time!  I hope that those of you who were here over Thanksgiving got in plenty of great skiing.
Therefore, we will begin U12 and U10 training on Saturday, December 7th according to our normal daily schedule, meeting at 8:30 am at the top of the AB quad.  All athletes should be on SL skis both days (if they have both SL and GS – if they have a single pair, then that’s the ski!) – no need for rock skis.  Looking ahead we will also be on SL skis December 14th and GS skis on the 15th.
New parents – please click here to check out U12.10 101 2013.14 Edition for detailed info on daily training, schedules, and more.
***Friday training: Anyone who has signed their children up for Friday training (you must sign up for the “3 day” option with the Comp Center), training for Friday U10/12s will start on Friday, December 13th.  You will receive separate communication on this each week.
Please remember that this Saturday night is the OMARA Social and Informational Meeting in the Sitting Bull at 7 pm.
Also, we are shooting for Saturday, December 14th at 4:30 pm for the U12/10 Parent Info Meeting – location TBD.  A lot of important info will be covered at this meeting and you will have the chance to ask questions as well – there will not be a social portion to this meeting, but I invite you all to join us at OMS from 7-9 pm for our annual Board of Director’s Open House.  I hope you received my invite by email last week – all are welcome!
Also check your email for information and registration forms for the OMS Holiday Hammer Camp.  The Annual OMS Holiday Hammer Camp, which this year is from December 16th-20th, is open to any interested second year (+) U12 or U10s.  This is a great opportunity for some extra training and a taste of ski academy life!  Please note that the camp is a very long day for younger athletes and it may not be the best idea for them.  I will be on the hill (hopefully!) with the kids and definitely at school, so if they are nervous at all, I will be around!  The camp will also be staffed by other U12/10 coaches, as well as OMS coaches.  Please note: THIS IS ONLY A DAY CAMP – no housing is provided.  To register your child you must return the registration form (either electronic or printable version), payment info or a check, the health summary, and waiver.  Please do so ASAP – the camp fills quickly.  Registration closes Tuesday, December 10th, or earlier if full.

See you Saturday!
