Snowboarders – USASA National Championships Day 1 + 2

Very exciting news from Colorado after just 2 days out here.

Randall Reynolds 1st place HP

Randall Reynolds won First place in Junior Halfpipe on Monday. He received an almost perfect score of 97 of 100 by pulling out back to back inverted tricks. The tricks were a Crippler and a switch Crippler, which is called a Haakonflip, named after Terje Haakonsen. The rest of the run consisted of enormous straight airs with grabs.

Kiersten Edwards 2nd place BX

Kiersten Edwards (Grommet) grabbed Second Place in Boardercross. She got 4th best time trial and then proceeded to dominate all heats except for Maddie Mastro, who could not be touched(this year).

Leah Jennings (Youth) competed in Slopestyle on Sunday and came in 23rd with a solid run. She looks forward to next season at Okemo when she can train even more and get a higher placement next year. She also came in 20th place in Boardercross today. She rode solid in these heats as well, but was up against some riders who were twice her size.

Anna Valentine (Grommet) rode in Boardercross on Sunday and did very well considering she was sick as a dog on Saturday night. She came in first in the consolation round, giving her 5th place overall for Boardercross.

Kiersten Edwards and Leah Jennings ready to ride!
