General Team Announcements, Results…

colletti gatordae FF
Jared Colletti, 3rd Place Gatorade Free Flow Jr. Jam Slopestyle, Loon Mtn. 1/30
  • As you can see above, Jared Colletti took 3rd in the Gatorade Free Flow Jr Jam Slopestyle Event at Loon on Satruday.  While they don’t post final results beyond the podium spots, highlights include a stellar run by Parker Clarkson as well in his first comp of the season.
  • While most of the B team remained at home to train this past weekend, Mark P and his dad ventured over to Hunter where Mark took 22nd, 3rd in the M5′s… full results found on the Freestyle Results page.
  • Take a look at the Freestyle Camps page… planning ahead can make it much easier for your home schools to prepare work while your child is away.  Spots are limited!
  • REMINDER… TEAM PARTY… flyer below… please RSVP TODAY for planning purposes…

OKEMO FREESTYLE MIDWINTER PARTY

A Freeride…

The OMS members of the A Freeride Team are back to CO to prepare for the Aspen Freeskiing Open.  On Monday they will drive from Breckenridge over to Aspen where they will be competing on the very same slopestyle course you all saw on TV for the X-Games.  Wish the boys luck!

A Moguls…

Congrats to Katie Craig for solely carrying the Okemo torch over to Killington for the A contest and for standing up her first run in A’s.  The final regular season event for A moguls will be Stratton, 2/20-21.

The B Team…

This Saturday is moguls at Sunapee…  those competing should have signed up already.  Please comment at the end of this post if you are going and we can coordinate carpooling that way as well.

The final B mogul comp of the regular season (i.e., last chance to qualify for Regionals and ultimately Easterns) is 2/20 at Killington — registration will open Monday @ 6pm, so hop on it!  Then, we will be going to Whaleback’s B Slopestyle an Aerials comp on Sunday, NOT KILLINGTON’s… Whlaeback is outside of our division, which only means registration for that will be available to us on 2/15 — don’t worry, that shouldn’t fill up.

Fresh Start Crew…

Again, parents, just a reminder that Coach Bruno and/or I would like to chat with each of you in the coming week or two and discuss your child(ren)’s move up to The B Team next year as well as a competition at the end of this season.

As something to consider, THIS is a list of basic freestyle skiing skills we’d like to see in a skier before joining the B Team.  We’ll be bringing these sheets out on the hill in February, sharing them with the athletes, and making them aware of what we are looking for in their progress

Thanks and have a great week!
