Above are a few photos of the OMS Freeriders doin’ their thing — learning and polishing on the tramps, and one of Dale, takin’ it to the snow at Keystone.

A very productive week for Hauser, Clarkson and Bruno training at Keystone and Breck last week.  This Saturday, Dale and Matt will be competing in Slopestyle Qualifiers at the Aspen Freeskiing Open… stay tuned for results.

For any other A Freeriders at home, this Sunday is the double Aerial event postponed from earlier in the season.  Bruno will be headed over with Parker. Will be in touch re: logistics; please email me if you have any questions.

A Moguls…

Stratton, the final event of the regular season, is in a little over a week… great opportunity to train at home this weekend (Katie!).

The B Team…

Below is an impressive VICTORY photo and a recap of the day by Coach LAW…

is a caption really necessary???

is a caption really necessary???

“It was a cold sunny day up on the course last saturday for the Sunapee “B” mogul competition. I had the privelage of being there with four competitors (Maggy, Sam, Mark & Patrick) braving the “lovely” course that was presented to us. So anyway enough of the dramatics…1st run we saw 3 out of 4 standup their runs. 2nd run was the same. However I firmly believe some milestones were reached. Patrick had the best, and when I say the best, you know it’s got to be, TWISTER-SPREAD EVER!!!! I soooo wish i had my video camera because it was deffinately youTube worthy!!! Mark of course was ripping it up, the man went against my judgement for lines, of course before hand perfectly articulating/explaining why (god i wish everyone could do this!). Maggy nailled both of her runs, skiing more aggressively in the second and impressing me the whole time! Sam nailed a very very good 3 on top on his second run, over coming a first run head-game. All in all it was a great day!!! Places…yes Maggy came in 15th overall out of 32 women! Sam was 5th, Mark 20th & Patrick came in 23rd out of 58 men. All in all a great day by all!

However, the best feat was at awards. Did i mention Team Okemo rules!!!! Yes it’s true and three fine Okemo Competitors proved this by beating all the other mountains in the Bananna Eating Contest!!! Yes they killed it! WHOOOHOOO. On the down side, we can all forget about this, but I lost the coaches bananna eating contest…I know, I know. Anyway it was all about my competitors, not my losing. Thats all for now….Law

**Here is the deal for upcoming comps… (2/20-21)…

Mogul skiers… If you were able to get in to Killington B moguls before reg. closed for 2/20, great, please affirm this in a comment below.  If you did not get in, but want to compete, please sign up for Whaleback B moguls on 2/20.

Freeriders… WE ARE NOT GOING TO KILLINGTON Slopestyle on 2/21.  PLEASE SIGN UP FOR Whaleback B Slopestyle on 2/21.

Fresh Start Crew…

Here is the scoop from coach G…

Props to everyone who came out for two more super cold days at Okemo and didn’t complain! Chris U. and I (Giovanna) caught up with Christian Backe who recently got his stitches out after getting a plate put in to fix his broken collar bone. Dr. Backe did a great job assisting with the surgery and we’re looking forward to having him back out on the slopes. For everyone else, nice job working on sliding boxes sideways this weekend. Keep up the good work. For the Fresh Starters and B’s keep thinking about getting 3 different tricks locked down before March!”

Thanks and have a great week…

Maggie did not get into Killington, I thought we could only register this coming Monday. So we will register for Whaleback.

  2. Deb Pawlak Says:

Eastern Freestyle site says event on Saturday the 20th at Whaleback is slopestyle–Sunday 21st is moguls. Is the plan for B Freestyle to attend Saturday? Sam was unable to get into Killington moguls as well and wanted to do the slopestyle event.

Thanks Deb — that is, apparently, a very recent change…

    >we will definitely go to Whaleback slopestyle as a team on Saturday.
    >everyone who wants/needs a mogul event should sign up for Whaleback Sunday.
    >and of course, for those who got in to Killington moguls on Saturday, we will send a coach there as well…
