Meet the Council Team Coaches!

Chris Hurka will be the Head Council Coach for the weekend program and will be working for OMS during the week. Chris worked for many years at Pico with a variety of age groups, though most recently he was working with the J1/2 age group. Chris is excited for the chance to return to the J4s. He believes that his experience with the older athletes will benefit his coaching of younger athletes and is excited to get to work! |

John Pawlak This is John’s (JP) 3rd season coaching the Council team. Prior to Council, JP coached J1 and 2′s for 2 years and prior to that, DEVO’s for two seasons. All at Okemo!Certified PSIA Level III and a Alpine Official.
During the summer JP is the Head Professional / Club Manager at Okemo’s Tater Hill Golf Club. Running Tater Hill, teaching golf, managing 3 other Teaching Professional and actively playing in New England PGA events keeps JP busy all year. |

Tanis Meakin – is an enthusiastic returning Council Coach. She graduated from SMS in 1987 and Competed on the United States Women’s Ski Team from 1987-1992. She placed 2nd in the 1988 Jr. World Championships, 16th in the 1991 World Championships, 4th in the 1992 US Nationals and participated in dozens of World Cup, Europa Cup and Nor Am events as well as the Far East Series in Asia and the first ever Pan-American Alpine Games. In 1995, post ski racing, she earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College. During winter college breaks she coached at Okemo. She now lives in Marblehead, MA with her husband and two ski racing daughters. By week-day she “moonlights” as a Commercial Real Estate lender at a Boston bank. |

Bill Chambers is married with three racing sons from South Windsor CT. Taught skiing for 10yrs and have coached for the last 12yrs. PSIA level 2, USSA Coach and Alpine Official. |

Kaity Pawlak Kaity will teach the Council group for the first time. Kaity raced at Okemo as a J3 through J1 and attended OMS throughout her High School years. Currently in her final year at Plymouth State University, Kaity is a two time All American racer. After graduating this spring, Kait will be focusing on a career in the golf and ski industries.Kaity’s skiing background and passion for racing will give the Council Program a solid (young) athletic coach to have the team chase around:)
